Seems odd that a defined time has been given, when commercially, a three hour closure would be a huge loss and that they would be looking to get things back to normal asap.

I was talking to someone in the navy working on the new carriers recently and apparantly they are designed to be able to operate ATC in the event of it going down.... seems a little unlikely to me... but it's not ready yet!

How about this... my new Mortgage application (changing from one product rate to another) has crashed the NatWest mortgage system ... 18 days and counting... had the head of NatWest Southern region Mortgages ring me up and apologise at their lack of urgency... hope to have it resolved by january !!!

BBC says airspace closed until 7pm, so that's at least another 3 hours, but the news report says that the operators are 'doing all they can to resolve it'
